Reporting Guidelines I. When to make a report: Please report any motor vehicle that generates excessive amounts of visible exhaust emissions (“squid vehicle” in Chinese) as soon as possible through the following channels. II. Channels: Please use the following reporting channels provided by the Environmental Protection Administration. Online (https://polcar.moenv.gov.tw/Case/EngStep0.aspx) In writing:Please download the reporting form and mail the completed form to the Environmental Protection Administration or to a local environmental protection bureau (it is best to mail the form to the environmental protection bureau of the city or county where the vehicle was sighted). III. Requirements: Sighting Reports must include all of the information below in order to be processed. Informant's name Informant's telephone number and address Vehicle type Motorcycle Small passenger vehicle Large passenger vehicle Small truck Large truck License plate number The road section where the vehicle was sighted Road sections should be classified as: Kilometer point where the vehicle was sighted along national highways County/city, township/district, street, and section IV. Processing procedures after reporting Information from reports received through all channels will be entered into the computer by each environmental protection bureau. After checking records of the vehicle on the computer, the environmental protection bureau responsible for the area in which the vehicle owner's registered residence is located will contact the owner to take the vehicle to a designated vehicle inspection site for inspection. The vehicle owner is subject to prosecution if he or she fails to take the vehicle in for inspection by the deadline or if the vehicle fails to pass inspection. Informants can inquire about ongoing cases and the results via telephone or on our website. Informants who report vehicles that subsegently fail inspection will receive a reward.
